Simulation of Geochemical Multifractal Distribution Patterns Based on Logistic Map

That spatial distribution patterns of element concentrations are of multifractal have attracted a lot of attention and the dynamic forming mechanisms of multifractal distribution is still in debate in recent years. In this paper, one self-organization model (SO model) based on Logistic Map has been used to simulate the multifractal distribution patterns of element concentration values in space. Based on raw data set of normal distribution and addition of anomalous population, the process of obtaining new data sets is particularly introduced. Through analyzing the data sets that come from the simulated data by making use of the method of moments, the shapes of the multifractal spectrum have been discussed and the singularity range has been applied to depict the shapes of the multifractal spectrum. The conclusion can be reached that these simulated patterns satisfy a multifractal distribution and their frequency probability pattern is not single normal or lognormal. Potentially, this approach has important implications in mineral resource assessment and environment evaluation.
