Evaluation of Oil Geological Anomaly in Chuxiong Basin Using Analytical Hierarchy Process

Analytical hierarchy process is a mathematical method with which one can decompose a complex problem hard to be quantified into a series of quantifiable simple problems step by step and then seek the solutions. Using this method in petroleum resource evaluation is significant. Based on the research of petroleum geology in Chuxiong basin, data of hydrocarbon generation, migration, accumulation, sealing and leaking was selected and analytical hierarchy process was used in this paper to evaluate the potential of petroleum resource. It was concluded that the most profitable exploration area are at the convergence of Mouding anticlinal belt and the overlapped area of Heijing depression, Pianjiao depression, and Huijiguan anticlinal belt. The key factors of this exploration area are good reservoir, continuously low potential energy area in geological time, and available trap.
