Discussion About the Informatization of Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Exploration
The effective approaches and methods of achieving the informatization of Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Exploration (GS&MRE) are: (1) To establish the shared data infrastructure on the basis of subject geological and mineral resources point-source resources databases (including spatial databases and attribute databases) according to the characteristic of GS&MRE work itself; (2) To rebuild the main flow of geological and mineral resources exploration and survey works by making use of information system technology, and thus, to accomplish the whole working flow computer-aided; (3) To carry out the multi-S system integration such as technical integration, network integration, data integration and application integration, in the meanwhile, to realize 3D visualization of the exploration data. Therefore, it is important to enhance the research on theory framework, methodology and technological system in informatization of GS&MRE, and place great emphasis on the development of integrated information technology that compatible with GS&MRE works.
