Three-part Quantitative Assessments of Porphyry Copper Deposits in the Middle-Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River

The three-part quantitative assessments of mineral resource potential are associated with many factors such as regional geology, minerals, geophysics, geochemistry, and remote sensing, deposit models, grade and tonnage models, and tract delineation, et al.. In this paper, adopt the three-part quantitative assessment method to develop the quantitative assessment of porphyry copper mineral resource potential in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River based on the metallogenic system theory. The three porphyry copper tracts were delineated according to the porphyry copper deposit models and grade and tonnage models, number of undiscovered porphyry copper deposits in every tract was estimated by means of the subjective probability method, the total amounts of the undiscovered porphyry copper mineral resources in three tracts was calculated about 5.7 million tons for 90% probability.
