Science and Technology of Photons and Nanoparticles in LCDs and Power Consumption Issue of Color Sequential LCDs

Malus law in the dichroic polarizers and the optical interference phenomena in LCDs are discussed in terms of a photon picture of light based on Diracs model. Experimental results of behaviors and functions of nanoparticles doped in LCD will be discussed by developing a theoretical explanation. Finally, the performance of PSV-FLCDs is presented and a color sequential LCD using this technology is demonstrated; and further the power consumption of these LCDs will be discussed.
