Gamma Curve Control for Image Data Processing
In this paper, we propose an approach for gamma curve control to achieve uniform LCD panel-to-panel color performance. A novel algorithm was developed for automatic tuning and programming of LCD gamma control. The proposed method is to change an 8-bit digital value of image data which is inputted in the SIR (serial interface receiver) to store at latch device of the data drive IC. We can convert it into the 8-bit digital values to fit target gamma value. The digital value of original image is then converted to the target digital value by using the programmable microcontroller, wherein the variation of the gray level can modify the gamma curve. For an exemplary 8-bit resolution, the simulation verified the adequacy of the proposed The Gamma Control via FEM Simulation for Image Data Processing.
