Test Pattern Generation for LCD and PDP Measurement
The properties of temporal luminance step response of displays can be used for characterizing motion artifacts. A novel simulation method was proposed to characterize the motion blur by using the measured LC response and human visual system. The test pattern generator was developed as an effective tool for data acquisition of the temporal step response of displays and the validation of simulation results by demonstrating the simulated perceived object and real moving object on the same panel. The experiment results prove that this system is an alternative way to characterize the motion blur.
