Advanced Amorphous and Polycrystalline Silicon TFT Pixel Circuits for AMOLED
The active matrix organic light emission diode (AMOLED) display employs various thin film transistor (TFT) backplane such as hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si: H) TFT, polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) TFT and solid phase crystallize silicon (SPC-Si) TFT. The TFT pixel circuits control image uniformity and reliability. This paper investigates the merits and problems of various AMOLED pixel circuits such as non-uniformity of poly-Si TFT, degradation of a-Si: H TFT and leakage current of SPC-Si TFT.
