The Design of the Freeform Reflector for Uniform Illumination
The energy from a known source is rearranged through the reflection by a freeforra reflector, in order to get the desired illumination. The freeform reflector can be obtained by investigating the numerical results of differential equations sets, and the differential equation sets can be gotten on knowing the characters of the light source and the desired illumination. A point source and a little extended source with uniform light distribution are applied as the light source respectively, and the desired illumination on certain plane is a circle with uniform illumination. The simulated results are uniform illumination near to 90% . When LED could be considered as a little extended source, this method is useful to get desired illumination of a projection display system.
