Research on a Novel Surface Lamp-house Based on AC-PDP Principle

By using PDP (plasma display panel) s characteristics of self-luminescence, thin structure, high brightness and uniform luminescence, a novel surface lamp-house based on PDP technology was developed to apply in which needs thin illuminator. To overcome PDPS shortage of low luminous efficiency, many important modifications are accomplished in panel structure, phosphors material, working gas, manufacturing process and drive circuit. The improved surface lamp-house has parameters as follows; thickness less than 4 mm, luminance more than 350 cd/m2, color temperature 6 500 K and luminous efficiency 4 lm/w. The study result of surface light source PDP will help to improve the photoelectric properties of image PDP.
