Role of Oxygen Vacancy in BaMgAl10O17: Eu2+ Energy Transfer Process
The role of oxygen vacancy in undoped and Eu-doped BaMgAl10 O17 (BAM) phosphors has been investigated under vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excitation. From the results of photolumiescence (PL) and thermoluminescence (TL), it is found that the host emission from BAM is relative to oxygen vacancy which induces electron traps in BAM. According to the change of PL and TL characteristics in the undoped and Eu-doped BAM, we propose a model to explain the radiative and non-radiative energy trasfer processes in BAM: Eu2+ under VUV excitation.
