The Influence of Cell Structure and Content of Xenon in Ne-Xe Mixture on Discharge Characteristics in Shadow Mask PDP
The 3-D simulation with fluid model is used to study the discharge characteristics of SMPDP. The influence of the discharge cell structure and the content of xenon in Ne-Xe mixture gas of SMPDP has been investigated. The address voltage, the sustain voltage, the production of UV, the discharge efficiency etc. have been compared in different cases. Simulation results show that the discharge becomes weaker and the time lag of the discharge is longer with (he smaller size of discharge cell under the same conditions. Simulation results also show that same as the three electrodes surface discharge PDP, the discharge efficiency could be enhanced with the increasing of the content of xenon in Ne-Xe mixture and die address voltage and sustain voltage need to be increased to maintain the similar discharge. It can also be seen from the simulation result that there is an optimum aspect of the discharge cell to get good discharge characteristics.
