Leakage Current Asymmetry in CSTN-LCD Panels

摘要：

Optical flicker is one of the artifacts of color STN-LCD displays, which is related to the internal DC offset in LCD panels. We verified the leakage current asymmetry to be a key factor to the occurrence of the DC offset, which was ignored in past studies. The leakage current asymmetry is related to the interface effect between different layers in a CSTN-LCD panel and the main contributing factor found in the asymmetry in topcoat (TC) layers in the display. Based on experiments, an improved RC network model was introduced to describe the mechanism.
