Research of Coating BaAl12O19:Mn2+ Phosphors with MgF2
BaAl12O19: Mn2+ phosphors were coated with a uniform compact MgF2 film according to the heterogeneous nucleation method. By precisely controlling the parameters of coating process, XRD and SEM analysis confirm the phosphors were coated with a uniform compact MgF2 film. TEM analysis indicates the thickness of the MgF2 film is about 40-50 nm. The property of resistance to thermal degradation is promoted obviously by coating BaAl12O19: Mn2+ phosphors with MgF2. The relative luminance of coated phosphors after baking at 600℃ for an hour in air reaches 99%.
