Computer Simulation of Electro-Optic Characteristics of OCB Mode Liquid Crystal Display
In this study computer simulations of transmittance-voltage characteristics of various liquid crystal materials were done in optically compensated bend (OCB) mode and no-bias-bend (NBB) OCB mode. We compared NBB mode with weak anchoring alignment OCB mode and evaluated their ability to lower driving voltage. The simulation on the relationship of the splay-bend transition voltage vs. pretilt angle was also investigated.
