Deduce the Bottleneck and Its Solutions for Developing the Color Filter Less TFT-liquid Crystal Display
To deduce all the bottlenecks and issues for designing CFL (Color Filter-Less) TFT-LCD including LC response time, TFT charging capability, Driver IC scanning frequency, data mapping algorithm, color breakup artifact and LED backlight control. We also realize two kinds of LC Type (TN, OCB) 7 inch Color Filter-Less TFT-LCD displays for constructing the experimental platform and finding out the solutions. Our OCB type CFL display has satisfactory performance (response time ＜ 4 ms, NTSC65％ , View angle 175/170, reduced color breakup) than TN type CFL display and conventional color filter based TFT-LCD.
