To Improve Exciplex Emission by Increasing Organic-organic Interfaces in Electroluminescent Devices
In this paper, two ways to improve exciplex emission in electroluminescent devices based on N, N-diphenyl-N, N-bis (3-methylphenyl)-(1, 1-biphenyl)-4, 4-diamine (TPD) and 2-(4-biphenyl)-5-(4-(crt-butylphenyl)-1, 3, 4-oxadiazole (PBD) are presented. Based on exciplex emission of charge carriers at the TPD/PBD interface, we have shown improved exciplex emission from organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) by inserting an incorporated PBD : TPD film between the TPD layer and the PBD layer, or by increasing the Dumber of PBD/TPD interfaces while keeping the whole thickness of the TPD layer and the PBD layer constant in the multi-layer device.
