Emission Color Tuning by Donor/Acceptor Introduction of Fluorene Based Polymer
A series of fluorene-containing conjugated copolymers composing of both electron-donating and electron-accepting monomeric units were synthesized by Suzuki coupling polymerization. The influence of the color emitting of the polymerized ratio of fluorene and donor/acceptor species has been investigated. The results indicate that the introduction of N-(4-tertbutylphenyl) -N-phenylbenzenamine (donor), benzothiadiazole (acceptor) and 4,7-di (thiophene-2-yl) benzothiadiazole (acceptor) unit to the main chain of polyfluorene provides red, green, blue and white eletorluminescence, that the CIE coordinate are(0.68, 0.32), (0.37, 0.61), (0.19, 0.18), (0.32, 0.32). The potential of using the materials for display and lighting is high.
