Highly Efficient Electrophosphorescent Organic Light-emitting Diodes with Double-emission Layers

High-efficiency electrophosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with double-emission layers have been fabricated and investigated. Comparing with the conventional single-emission layer OLEDs, the alternative architecture incurs much better overall electroluminescence performance. For the red implementation, the external quantum efficiency (EQE) remains higher than 12% over wider current density range and decay much slower than the control device. Power efficiency is enhanced over a wide luminance range from 10 to 10 000 cd/m2. Particularly, the lifetime is improved as well. For the green implementation, very high EQE ~20% , corresponding to nearly 100% internal QE, is achieved. This OLED also exhibit the maximum current efficiency of 77 cd/A and power efficiency of 68.5 Im/W.
