Color Design and Color Correction for RGB LED Backlight
This paper reported the work of color design and color correction for LED backlight. An array of red, green, and blue LEDs was designed to make white light in LED backlight. By using the CIE colorimetric system, suitable proportions of luminous flux of three color LEDs could be obtained, and the color coordinates, the color gamut of LED backlight could be calculated. It is necessary to make a color space transformation because the color gamut of LED is different from the gamut of PAL and sRGB, So the color of LCD TV with LED backlight will be more exact and more vivid than that of CCFL backlight TV.
