Surface Encapsulating and Characterization of BaMgAl10O17: Eu2+ Blue Light Emitting Phosphor
BaMgAl10O17 : Eu2+ (BAM) blue phosphor was encapsulated with inorganic salt hydrolyze method. The surface coatings morphologies, phase structure, and coating proportion were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Auger electron spectra (AES). Results indicated that a continuous compact SiO2 coating layer about 16 - 20 nm in thickness was obtained. Encapsulated BAM phosphor presented better property to resist thermal degradation. When baked at 600℃ for 1 h, the luminance intensity of coated BAM phosphor kept at 92% which is higher than that of uncoated BAM by 23% , and coordinationy 0.061 4 lower than thai of uncoated BAM (0.0645), indicating the release of color shift.
