The Area Light Source Modeling for Determining the Light Point Figure Using Ray Tracing Method
The ray tracing usage to the light point figure calculation taking into account the area light source is presented in the paper. Three methods of light point figure obtaining are described here: the analytic method based on the classic (Whitted) ray tracing, the decomposition method based on the extended model of the light source, the method based on the photon mapping. All of these methods take into account the area light sources but each of them in different way. The differences of these methods -their advantages and disadvantages are presented in this article.
