Experiment research for high frequency discharge and 50hz discharge of the tubular fluorescent lamps
With the widely use of electronic ballast into the lighting field of fluorescent lamps, energy-saving conception of high-frequency operated fluorescent lamps have been well known to almost of the people. However , how to save energy for fluorescent lamp operated at high frequency? How many is the Lumen efficiency at different high frequency operation such as 15k, 25k, 50k, 75k, 100kHz? And how much energy are saved from the cathode and the gas-discharge space respectively at high frequency operation? which energy levels of the Hg atom make the contribution in the luminous flux under the high frequency operation ? etc. There are not the system analysis in papers up to now. This paper makes detail analysis through the experiments for the tubular fluorescent lamps and the ultraviolet lamps respectively. Through these experiments, we can know the total luminous flux of the lamp tube operated at high frequency are higher about 10% for T8 15W and 6% for T8 36W respectively than that at the 50 Hz. the average tube wall temperature of the lamp are higher in the positive column region operated at high frequency than that at the 50Hz, which almost be produced by the elasticity collision losses of the atoms and the influence of the quantum efficiency of the fluorescent powder is small.
