A review of perspective of the application of leds in general lighting by comparing efficacies of led and conventional light sources
This article analyzes the efficacy of conventional light sources and theoretical and technological limits of the efficacy. Then LEDs spectrum was simulated by Gaussian and Larentz models to calculate LEDs efficacy. By comparison of the efficacy of conventional light sources and LED it was concluded that increasing of LEDs internal quantum efficiency and extraction efficiency to quite high level is needed for LED to apply in general lighting.
