Effects of different colour temperatures and illuminance levels on the preference of wall colours at offices

The study investigates the preference of five wall colour samples under six different lighting scenarios. The mostly preferred lighting scenario was 6500°-K-750 lx, followed by 3000°-K and 6500°-K mixed -750lx. 500lx illuminance level did not satisfy the user needs, 750 lx was preferred by the test people. Results indicated that, though lighting scenarios have affected the subjective evaluations, personal judgements depend on cognition as well. The visual appeal about a particular colour has changed when it was observed alone and in a series of colour samples.
