Emergency lighting with considering adaptation of eyes
In order to avoid the lowering of the visibility with the rapid decrease of visual field luminance by changing into the emergency lighting by the power cut, the new lighting system with considering the dark adaptation condition of human eyes is proposed. The effectiveness of the new system is verified based on experiment results of the recovery time of visual acuity. Subjects are 18 persons of 20-year-olds to 80-year-olds. The recovery time of visual acuity shortened remarkably by the new lighting system. Especially the system is effective for elderly persons, low visual acuity persons and to obtain high visibility.
