Atmosphere absorbance and its application in the design of the field lighting system in a stadium
During the time that light beam is projected from lighting fixture to field through the air, the atmosphere causes the reduction of light by absorbance, reflection and dispersion. Atmosphere absorbance (AA) is defined to describe the reduction of light passing through the air. This paper puts forward the recommended AA values of different regions of China after systematic research over it. The formula of illuminance is modified because AA is taken into consideration in this paper. The research result has been applied to the illuminance calculation of the field lighting of an Olympic stadium. We compare the design of the field lighting with AA and without AA in the paper, and come up with the concl usion that it is rational and necessary to apply AA.
