Field measurement on the amount of outdoor exposed light in nighttime in Japan
Field measurements on the characteristics of exposed light of the passengers in nighttime were conducted. Vertical illuminance and correlative colour temperature at the passengers eye and luminance distribution in the visual field of the passengers were measured in 3 different places each with 3 different types of area, business district, downtown area and residential area. The results showed that there was little difference of correlative colour temperature between different type of area. On the other hand, the illuminance in downtown area was above ten times of that in business district. From the results of the measurements, plasma melatonin percent change control-adjusted MS which could indicate the effects of light on circadian regulations was calculated.
