Porosity Estimation of Sea-Floor Sediments from Well Logs: A Case Study in ODP Leg 184, South China Sea
This paper deals with porosity estimation of sea-floor sediments from conventional well logs. Several relationships based on acoustic, density and resistivity logs, as well as core data, were derived. Porosity curves were created using well logs from 4 holes in ODP Leg 184. The results show that accurate porosity of sea-floor sediments could be obtained when the some unfavorable effects on well logs are removed.
