Characteristics and Evaluation of Low Resistivity Reservoir in Ordos Basin
The microcosmic factors which caused reservoir resistivity decrease have several cases on Ordos basin. It was shown that low resistivity reservoir with high irreducible water saturation have fine grain, micropores developed well and complicated pore structures. And with sandstone rich in argillaceous or clay mineral usually appear at fresh water formation. Low resistivity reservoir with high total porosity and high microporosity is caused by strong dissolution and heterogeneity. And its relations with the reservoirs are low-amplitude structural reservoirs, the height of the reservoir is small, the oil and water transition belt is wide and the water bearing saturation of the oil formation is high. Then it relates with high or very high formation water salinity. Mud invasion could cause the apparent formation resistivity decrease and it has deeply mud invasion in part high permeability zone. The characteristics for oil and water layer identification at low resistivity zone have been presented.
