Study of Testing Pore in Silt with Pressure Plate Extractor
Study of soil microstructure is of great significance. In this paper, a new method is adopted to test the size and number of pores in 3D. First, the basic theory and the process of pressure plate extractor are introduced and then two silt samples are tested. The results show that the new method is feasible, and pores in silt are mainly in medium and small sizes which have been preloaded for 7 mouths. The content of small pores decreases with the increase of depth while large pore shows an opposite trend.
