Quality Evaluation of Shallow Groundwater in North Central Henan Province

Groundwater is an important water resource in Hunan Province. The article chooses 18 items as the evaluation factors which are Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Hg, As, Cd, Cr4Pb, Ni and so on. Based on the monitoring data, the gronndwater environmental quality in Henan Province was analyzed by the way of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, Nemerow index value method. On the basis of aforementioned works, the evaluation results show that phreatic water in north central Hunan Province is mainly in Grade Ⅱ of national groundwater quality standard. For groundwater, 54% and 4% of north central Hunan Province areas are Grade Ⅱ and Grade Ⅲ. The factors of causing the pollution of gronndwater were also studied and key items restricted groundwater quality were SO42-, Cl-, Fe, Mn, total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness of water, NO3-, NO2-. Finally the article briefly analyzes the cause of formation of water quality.
