The Construction of 3-D Model of Uplift and 3-D Vector Cut
This paper advances two methods for the construction of 3-D model of uplift which includes the profile-interpolating method and the structure-contour-interpolating method. Based on the characteristics of uplift, the key problem for the construction of 3-D model of uplift is to construct the circum-wedge line formed by onlap sedimentation. Using the profile-varying 1/2profile-profile method and contour interpolating-and-extrapolating method, we demarcated the circum-wedge line, constructed the 3-D data entity of uplift and achieved 3-D vector cut on the data entity. Meanwhile, It is proved that the 172 wedge line method, which has been used in the stratigraphic correlation customarily, is not adapted for the construction of 3-D model of uplift. In this paper the 1/2 wedge line method is unproved.
