The Relations between Skolithos and Petrophysical Properties in Donghe Sandstone Reservoir of Central Tarim Basin

Abundant Skolithos occur in the Donghe sandstone reservoir (Upper Devonian) in the central Tarim basin, China. Based on the features of bioturbation and analysis of sandstone diagenesis and porosity structures, there is a negative relationship between the bioturbation structures and petrophysical properties of UK reservoir. The more intense the bioturbation, the worse the petrophysical properties of the reservoir. The primary porosity is the greatest where there is no bioturbation or weak bioturbation. Consequently the most highly effective porosity and permeability in the reservoir, ocuur in zones which are devoid of Skoltihos.
