Physical Aspects of Highwall Fragmentation by Blasting at Surface Mining Operations

摘要：

The paper presents a theoretical analysis of high-bench breaking by blasting. Peculiar aspects are analyzed of high-bench blasting at the surface mining operations in Russia. New approaches are proposed for drilling processes in high benches. Opportunities are described for the application of downward digging walking machinery (walking excavators).
