Research on Coefficient of Spacing during Drilling and Blasting
During drilling and blasting, there should be some reasonable distinction between burden and spacing of the hole. The paper, first and foremost, made the best use of the principles as in the case of elastic-plastic mechanism, damage mechanism and rock fracture mechanism, and then took such factors as the initial damage and secondary damage into consideration, the expression of fissuring radius formed during Cylindrical Charge Hasting was deducted. Starting from the energy distribution and in accordance with the geometrical principle, the optimum coefficient of spacing n = 1.56 for deep hole drilling and blasting was deducted. This coefficient could be utilized for the best release of blasting energy to break the rocks. Through the application of this principle at Baiquan iron-ore mine at Pingquan county, Hebei province, the reasonability of this coefficient was proved to be true. At the same time, the reliability of the computing results by this expression was verified, which could greatly resolve the problems of residual hole root and fragmentation. With the fissuring radius expression and coefficient of spacing deduced in this paper it could be references for the design of engineering blasting.
