Research on Key Technique of Rock Anchor Beam Excavation

Rock anchor beam, the sustentation structure of the bridge-type lift, is the core construction in excavation of underground workshop. The excavation of the beam is directly responsible for the success of the rock anchor beam. For this reason, the quality of its excavation is highly requested and also the vital important operation in terms of its difficulty in the construction of the whole underground workshop. Regarding the geological characters of underground workshop at Pubugou water powerstation, like great ground stress, rock hardness, poor joint development, and poor integrality, great change in rock property, and also regarding the projected short engineering schedule and super high request for the excavation quality, a new key blasting techniques, named Controlled Blasting with Three-stage Ignition - one-stage excavation of construction smooth - pres-plitting blasting, was first used in central cutting excavation. And the named Vertical-slope Hole Smooth Controlled Blasting with One-stage Excavation was used in upside protective layer excavation of rock anchor beam. These new technologies reduced the blasting vibration and insured the construction quality of rock anchor beam excavation, creating the new records of blasting excavation in terms of its 100% of leftover ratio of bore holes, 0.2~0.8 m of influencing depth caused by blasting and excavating, and 8.7 cm of the average rock wall overbreak.
