Study on Explosive Forming of Large Scale Sheet Parts
Through the study on explosive forming of large scale parts, this paper introduces an integrated multi-step forming of large scale sheet part in a specially designed explosive die frame. The experimental method, devise and process and the calculation of the energy were analyzed. The experimental results indicted that for the large scale sheet parts which are hard to form utilizing conventional forming process, vacuum explosive forming is a simple but effective method for forming this kind of parts. The precision of the formed parts can meet the design requirements. The research results provide a high efficiency, low cost method in making large scale sheet parts.
