Prediction of Peak Particle Velocity of Kinecker and Validation of Its Application as a Low Vibration Breaking
To satisfy the environmental requirements, several methods for urban blasting have been developed in Korea. Kinecker, an explosives product developed by the Korea Nobel Co., was applied to 3 sites with different design patterns. Peak particle velocity were measured and analyzed to determine prediction equations. Limit scaled distance were reduced from the equations. Results show that application of Kinecker for hard rock with poor design cause rather high particle velocity so that it should be used carefully. Application with sufficient free face and proper burden, Kinecker can be successfully adopted as a low vibration breaking, the MOCT (the Ministry of Construction and Transportation) type I blasting method, in urban area of difficult condition.
