Discussion on Collapse Vibration Caused by Demolition Blasting

During practice of demolition blasting, collapse vibration is sometimes larger than blasting vibration, so collapse vibration is more and more attached importance to by blasting operator. It is found from corresponding monitoring data that estimated collapse vibration intensity in scheme discussion and blasting technique design is often larger than monitoring data, and the cost for safety protection is increased largely. It is shown that estimated collapse vibration intensity obtained by referring to the format of estimation formula for blasting vibration intensity, and re-defining the physical meaning of corresponding parameters according to the characteristics of collapse vibration, then regressing the value of K and a on the basis of monitoring data, is close to monitoring datum. It is significative for unifying criterion of estimating collapse vibration intensity, and avoiding following like sheep, and being convenient for application, and improving precision of design, saving construction cost.
