Recent Developments in Cu Foil as a Current Collector of Li-ion Battery
The demand for thinner Cu foil as a current collector of Li-ion battery is increasing as the market for smaller and portable electronic products grows. Using newly developed additive technology and polishing technology, next generation Cu current collector with 6μm thickness was successfully developed in ILJIN Copper Foil Co., Ltd. The new Cu current collector exhibited the high strength and the competent elongation, and therefore it is expected that the new Cu foil will replace the currently used Cu foils with 8 or 10 μm thickness in a few years.
