The Impact of State-ownership on Firms Technological Innovational Modes in the Transitional Economy of China
Taking China as the context, the study examines the impact of state-ownership on the technological innovational modes of the public corporations in transition economy. This paper investigates a sample of 541 surviving listed firms in 5 industries during the period 2000-2005. Our study contributes to the literature on innovation strategy in transition economies by (1) analyzing the state ownerships institutional and resource-based characters in transition economy; (2) empirically testing the consequence of impact of state-ownership on innovational modes choice, and drawing the conclusion-in China, state ownership is apt to self-innovation.
