The Application of Modularity in Product Strategy
Designing and production for modular product is regarded as a best option to achieve product variety. By rational use of modularity, we can obtain mass customization at the lowest cost. Based on comprehensive research of modular theories, this paper analyses the applications of modularity in product innovation, and differentiates strategy and development of product platform. Further a framework is given on how to make use of modular method, and a case is introduced to illustrate the framework. We believe that it will play a role of reference for enterprise.
