Bioinformatics Analysis of NMDAR 1
NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors represent a class of glutamate receptors that are of central importance in synaptic plasticity. They are involved in long term potentiation and depression and have been found in Rattus norvegzcus, Mus nmsculus and Homo sapiens. Here we mainly focus on one of its most important subtypes, NMDA1 in mice. We analyzed the gene that encodes it, the mammalian homology of this gene, and its gene superfamily. Meanwhile, we investigated the structure of NMDA1 receptor, its conserved domains and protein patterns, aw well as its role and interactions with other proteins. All of our work is base on the database of NCBI, Prosite, KEGG and other major biological databases.
