Bioinformatics Analysis of PSD-95 Structure and Its Interacting Partners
Postsynaptic density-95 (PSD-95/SAP-90), a major protein component of postsynaptic density (PSD), is an abundant postsynaptic scaffolding protein that plays an important role in synapse maturation and synaptic plasticity. It has three PDZ domains, one SH3 domain, and one guanylate kinase (GK) domain. Through these domains, PSD-95 performs important roles in recruiting other dendritic and transmembrane proteins, such as NMDA receptors, SPAR, and NE-dlg/SAP102, and mediating the interactions of these proteins, In this article, we try to use bioinformatics tools to analyze the structure of these domains and search the interacting partners of PSD-95. This will provide insight into the functions of PSD-95.
