Analysis of Ore Dilution for Sub-level Caving Method
It is rather difficult to deal with the high ore dilution problem of sub-level caving method. Ore drawing process and its control method based on the stochastic theory of ore drawing are analyzed in the paper. From the ore samples taken from some mines it is found that ore is mixed with rock during the long-holes blasting for sub-level caving method. Further more, the reason for ore mixed with rock during the long-holes blasting is investigated by the material simulation. Two processes causing ore mixed with rock in the sub-level caving method are presented in the paper. The first one happens during the blasting process and the second one is during the ore drawing process. Therefore, in order to reduce the ore dilution rate it is imperative to optimizing the blasting parameters of long-holes and choosing appropriate ore drawing method.
