The Coalbed Methane Content of Ⅱ1 Coal Reservoir and Its Controlling Factors in Liangbei No.2 Coal Mine, Yuzhou Coalfield, Henan Province
The investigation on coalbed methane content and its controlling factors is the foundation to discuss the formation mechanism of coalbed methane reservoir and evaluate the producibility of coalbed methane. The Liangbei No.2 coal mine of Yuzhou coalfield is a mine that coal exploration was accomplished just now and prepared to mining. The coalbed methane resource is relatively abundant in the Ⅱ1 coal reservoir of the Lower Permian Shanxi formation, gas in-place is about 0.7×108 m3/km2. Based on the data obtained from coal exploration, the occurrence of coalbed methane content in Ⅱ1 coal reservoir is systematically described and the controlling factors of coalbed methane content is discussed. The investigation indicates: (1) the depth of air altered zone is great, and the occurrence of coalbed methane content is extraordinary hrterogeneous; (2) the open normal faults that formed during Yanshanian Orogeny are the main pathway for coalbed methane to escape; (3) the thickness of overburden strata above Ⅱ1 coal seam is the main factor that controls the regional distribution of coalbed methane. The larger the thickness, the higher the coalbed methane content; (4) in the area where the roof and floor of coal seam are mudstone and siltstone, coalbed methane content is exclusively high; (5) the deep stagnant zone of groundwater is favorable for coalbed methane accumulation.
