Fractal Characteristic of Fissured Coals Crack Evolution under the Action of Abutment Pressure
Quantitative description for the evolution of crack in fissured coal is one of the fundamental problems of rock mechanism. Based on the field observation of the abutment pressure, the coal mass cracking process was simulated on the compress machine, and the whole stress-strain curve was obtained. Using fractal geometry theory, thequantitative description of the evolution of fissure system in coal sample is achieved. It is discovered that, the relationship between the fractal dimension of the crack and the abutment pressure is polynomial expression. Based on damage mechanics, the constitutive equation of fissured coal was deduced.
