Numerical Simulation of Gob Stress Status in Gently Inclined Gypsum

For the safety of the under stratum mining, the stress status of the gobs must be predetermined, then following the evaluation of stability and corresponding disposal measures. With numerical simulation technique, the gob stress status in gently inclined gypsum mining was studied based on the actual conditions of Longyao gypsum mine. In the paper, the methods of three-dimensional elastic-plastic method is used to simulating and appraising the stability of the gob in Longyao gypsum mine. Due to friction action of the soft roof and floor, the horizontal deformation of the soft roof and floor is as much as some place even larger than the deformation of the pillar and this lead to tensile failure of the pillar. The numerical simulation results would provide special technique foundation for the research of the mining approach and the gob transactions test of the gypsum mine.
