Analysis of Dynamic Mechanical Response of Coal under Impact Loading of Water Jet

Based on the description about impact of water jet on coal and rock, the calculation model of impact of water jet on coal and rock were established, and the analytic solution of stress field in coal and rock which is under the action of impactive dynamic loading, subsequently, the dynamic mechanical response of coal and rock under the impact of water jet is analyzed. The analysis indicates that in the three stages of the impact, the radial stress and the peak value of tangential stress are tensile stress at the non-cross-flow stage; at the stable flow stage the radial stress is the compressive stress and the tangential stress is tensile stress; at the unloading stage, the radial stress turns into the tensile stress and the tangential stress changes into the compressive stress. The work is helpful for the further study of the process and mechanism of coal breakage by pressure water jet.
